But as I have gotten older I generally don't get past a walk or slow trot without my saddle!
ConnieC and C Antiques and Animals - What a Life!https://www.blogger.com/profile/16313586658439234080noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8209475776802800748.post-36740096703976264422011-05-21T03:18:08.365-07:002011-05-21T03:18:08.365-07:00In the past I found bare back riding was fun, but ...In the past I found bare back riding was fun, but it is a saddle for me every time now. I have to say that you do look to have a very nice riding position on Niko without your saddle, but I know how hard it is to maintain once you get into an active trot or canter. Lunging is good in the meantime, but I do hope you get your saddle back as promised on the 26th. Regarding the incident with my friends (20 year old) horse, he normally stands quietly if she dismounts to open a difficult gate. For some reason he started circling around her, then rearing up and charging at her. He has never done it before and she was really frightened. She had to let go and he charged off up the field but waited at the top. When she reached him he allowed her to get back on and she got home ok. My other friend who was with her on her horse, and was standing quietly, watched all this and said there was no sign of anything that could have set him off. It is a mistery why he did what he did but hope it is not to be repeated. Any thoughts would be welcome. Well, there I go again rambling!
Thank you for your kind comments on my post, much appreciated as always. AbbyRDA Pony Taleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03863790978890974507noreply@blogger.com
