My last post was all the way back in 2014 wishing you all a happy Halloween which I hope you had. Now I’m back with Christmas looming just around the corner let’s hope it’s a good one for all, but back on track now, it’s been fun looking back through my blog and seeing how my point of view has changed so drastically on some subject and stayed so true to others but that’s part of the reason I wanted to start a blog so that in years to come I could look back on it and see all the good and the bad times I’ve had with our equines, so without further ado on with the blogging!</span><br />

For anyone wondering that has forgotten our little herds names or simply for my newer viewers the little chap at the very top of the post is Murphy our Welsh section C and the big bay fella above this text is Niko my Thoroughbred gelding that I believe stands at around 16.2hh I should probably re-measure the old boy. Above is a photo of our field or one side of it anyway, with all the rain we've been having it had left the fields quite muddy, then we had all the wind that dried the fields out and here you have it one big dirt field, it does have some grass down one end but they won't eat that so I guess they can't be hungry, just as well with all the haylage they munch through. <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggeRaghmj3X1F_517qLkZEYnC6d-Spq_R_MMF4NX4fYldlGDOLISIE0LXmiO7cw2Kz4dXFFjvJEiBT7Vrgefq8oNQf85yr8J468neM9q0CIt_MNwZaRlXRFzB12ALPJLVSGgjVaFC3IIWF/s1600/portable-fence-field-paddock-horse-pony.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggeRaghmj3X1F_517qLkZEYnC6d-Spq_R_MMF4NX4fYldlGDOLISIE0LXmiO7cw2Kz4dXFFjvJEiBT7Vrgefq8oNQf85yr8J468neM9q0CIt_MNwZaRlXRFzB12ALPJLVSGgjVaFC3IIWF/s1600/portable-fence-field-paddock-horse-pony.jpg" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Of course haylage isn't the only thing our beloved equines are eating, we've still got our portable fencing and although it is a little run down, it's plastic after all, it still does the job. This is a shot to show some of the grazing they get, it's not great and does have rather a lot of weeds but at least they can still get some grass.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgc48zIxrPPlGoyufIZQctYt0q09EvHFyy4RNV0YRsaSJKRKqq4Zs0X2L_Dqrrmlr1OioA1nCbhAzSea-89yY684EdlhLbdTfs5w5mNkPdl9fWWXyyjZlmIKg3bL568mK5BMQBXlNIP_MnM/s1600/apples-horse-tree-field.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgc48zIxrPPlGoyufIZQctYt0q09EvHFyy4RNV0YRsaSJKRKqq4Zs0X2L_Dqrrmlr1OioA1nCbhAzSea-89yY684EdlhLbdTfs5w5mNkPdl9fWWXyyjZlmIKg3bL568mK5BMQBXlNIP_MnM/s1600/apples-horse-tree-field.jpg" height="313" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Here's what else they can reach, yummy apples, some of our herd are a little too fond of the apples, but we do keep an eye on them to make sure they don't over do it and make themselves feel ill.None of our equines have to worry about getting a shock from the portable electric fence because we don't turn it on, with them in, this does sound a bit silly but they are remarkably well behaved so they're is no real need to turn it on.<br />
<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Coming to the end of the post now with a photo of the wonderful Niko, he is looking over to see when we are done putting up the portable fence. All the equines are well and happy, the farrier is coming tomorrow to trim their hooves, so let's hope that all goes well. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
That's it from me I hope you are all having a great time with your equines or whatever it is you happen to be up to. </div>

<br />
Here's my review of Neue Schule's Verbindend horse bit.<br />
<br />
I bought Niko, my Thoroughbred gelding, this bit and have been riding him in it for quite some time now so I figured I'd do a post reviewing the bit.Just before we get started I would like to say that no matter how good or bad I make the Verbindend sound you need to pick the right bit for your horse, so just please remember some bits are better for some breeds of horse/equine, it's important to do lots of research before running off and buying a bit just because it's shiny and looks like gold.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAVIkg8ff3bbQEbrVGNGWL6JTjUUr-Ah8m-fcQ1IganYGL_pLZvhOLxPwpTIFsIgKmcoHYIrHCmYpa296GFb8xonjCIzMYm0BBglREUL3qknFTMnB-4wGey40r7KALLB_yMshEHAtLw0Ma/s1600/Neue-Schule-horse-bit-review.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAVIkg8ff3bbQEbrVGNGWL6JTjUUr-Ah8m-fcQ1IganYGL_pLZvhOLxPwpTIFsIgKmcoHYIrHCmYpa296GFb8xonjCIzMYm0BBglREUL3qknFTMnB-4wGey40r7KALLB_yMshEHAtLw0Ma/s1600/Neue-Schule-horse-bit-review.jpg" height="238" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
If you take a look at the photo above you should see three things, one my bit is a little dirty (shame on me) two the rather curved shape of the bit and three it has that handy little lozenge thingy, which will stop too much nutcracker action going on. Back to the shape of the Verbindend now due to it's shape when in the horse's mouth it makes a channel for the horse's tongue, the idea being to prevent tongue evasion which I can say it's pretty good at, but, if your horse is the type to stick his tongue out this bit isn't always going to stop it, on the other hand if he is sticking his tongue out because he hasn't got enough room in his mouth with a big bit in there this might do the trick.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfO_qyLDAckjkX2XhbP_sp1-oatcMP75-aQrtrx2WdZ5VEx7jJ16nWd2D2XXKeMS4b0gvfEgptY4ADwZ1VQtZGvvAn9D-dq5js7w8HlWaUf8PH9Ugei0Cfvp8u9gDmcsP1DjBVVyhO_LVB/s1600/Verbindend-horse-bit-size-and-fit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfO_qyLDAckjkX2XhbP_sp1-oatcMP75-aQrtrx2WdZ5VEx7jJ16nWd2D2XXKeMS4b0gvfEgptY4ADwZ1VQtZGvvAn9D-dq5js7w8HlWaUf8PH9Ugei0Cfvp8u9gDmcsP1DjBVVyhO_LVB/s1600/Verbindend-horse-bit-size-and-fit.jpg" height="308" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Because of the Verbindend's kind of odd shape it actually doesn't take up nearly as much room in your horse's mouth as you might think it would. With all this talk of shape maybe it's got you wondering how harsh will this bit be on my horse, well to be honest the bit really isn't bad and your horse can understand what you're asking with just the slightest rein signals, no it's not a wonder bit that can make your horse's mouth suddenly sensitive if he's dead in the mouth but it's likely to be a step in the right direction.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguHT5SwXMnYDCucJuo2yCMrJWfFWtomIN-3WOYto7uxd_QeRwroyhB-rnobl7YK3dChA1Dlx2we8yE_UX-Vcg69sEHAt6enqrefKMH8REltHPdwoJwQuq9zmFoCblKNJNVOVWpsCvKOUoA/s1600/Verbindend-horse-bit-70mm-rings.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguHT5SwXMnYDCucJuo2yCMrJWfFWtomIN-3WOYto7uxd_QeRwroyhB-rnobl7YK3dChA1Dlx2we8yE_UX-Vcg69sEHAt6enqrefKMH8REltHPdwoJwQuq9zmFoCblKNJNVOVWpsCvKOUoA/s1600/Verbindend-horse-bit-70mm-rings.jpg" height="302" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Now to the sizes, Niko's Verbindend is a 12mm bit with 70mm rings it's a good size for Niko but you might want to consider other sizes depending on your horse/equine's mouth size and breed. Okay now down to the standard stuff you all want to know, the bit is good for sending clear signals, I believe it's comfy for the horse when fitted properly, it's not a overly harsh bit but don't kid yourself it's still metal, it's great for transition, the Verbindend bit in general is a good bit and in the size I have it it's completely dressage legal.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAiuHNpbyjeGjee29TtJltO2KCK2Hlo-KLCU9NnEPC91wxVw8qqfMFalzBUoLrkijTbuwix-E7Hmb_V3OHBF0sW4-RuQfppnd8RPnY55bLq7mXz3RAw71FKiGW_J55W63gfMlgWKC-etgS/s1600/Verbindend-soft-metal-damaged-horse.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAiuHNpbyjeGjee29TtJltO2KCK2Hlo-KLCU9NnEPC91wxVw8qqfMFalzBUoLrkijTbuwix-E7Hmb_V3OHBF0sW4-RuQfppnd8RPnY55bLq7mXz3RAw71FKiGW_J55W63gfMlgWKC-etgS/s1600/Verbindend-soft-metal-damaged-horse.jpg" height="250" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The one downside to the Neue Schule's Verbindend bit is it's made of a very soft metal that makes the horse salivate sounds good right? Well not really because the metal is too soft so this can happen, see photo above. I would like to say that this only happened when Niko my TB was first getting used to the bit and he had previously only been ridden in a straight rubber bit, so please keep that in mind.<br />
<br />
All things considered I like the Verbindend bit and would recommend it for many horses. Just remember to check out what types of bit are going to suit your equine best.<br />

<br />
Only a short time ago Niko and I were given the great opportunity to go riding on a stubble field. It was my very first time riding on a stubble field, I am sure the same can't be said for Niko as he is a ex- point-to-pointer so no doubt it was nothing new to him.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjP0JBuua5xWpbAwRFzoNoN8WgW9aF9ZanAQFbPhg7m6HcEpzUbS94pcDRB_nT3MTovfDyg3yLkJqPgWpbVwNzW6eGtOPtQS_5Uge2bBSnw6aXNofJdfl1iW19yqfDCQeeVBl743QZEKpej/s1600/horse-riden-on-stubble-field-male-rider.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjP0JBuua5xWpbAwRFzoNoN8WgW9aF9ZanAQFbPhg7m6HcEpzUbS94pcDRB_nT3MTovfDyg3yLkJqPgWpbVwNzW6eGtOPtQS_5Uge2bBSnw6aXNofJdfl1iW19yqfDCQeeVBl743QZEKpej/s1600/horse-riden-on-stubble-field-male-rider.jpg" height="327" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Niko was an absolute star for me and I can honestly now understand why some people go on about stubble fields the way they do, although none of the photos show it clearly the field was a great size for Niko to really go for it and let me see how fast he could go.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifOKAHNpYjFo5eHQesQBAdAYY_Fsw7rfX4ymEQ8IuMWzSGPAQKIgnQqxL6vkueghSk9UoVN-frNnJucUSWGIKQQzXEwKMhNmbfuw87l93OaU-2J_8a8cDZNl-W84DbjVPngjiaWJuLOX5l/s1600/rider-high-vis-vest-visibility-horse-hack.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifOKAHNpYjFo5eHQesQBAdAYY_Fsw7rfX4ymEQ8IuMWzSGPAQKIgnQqxL6vkueghSk9UoVN-frNnJucUSWGIKQQzXEwKMhNmbfuw87l93OaU-2J_8a8cDZNl-W84DbjVPngjiaWJuLOX5l/s1600/rider-high-vis-vest-visibility-horse-hack.jpg" height="298" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Here we are again not going at any real speed here but I'm sitting comfortably and Niko is going nicely for me. Speaking of going nicely I've bought Niko a new bit, it's called the Verbindend and is made by Neue Schule, it's a very good bit but more on that in another post.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHsBILiSg8PjpeAelAOU-Vl2_OS5u87fjLedQVqhm4xElhFnnwIjskBz0v8hHGa9jN5F22yGfn2pQUmr9s4Txu_YtkiJkPaAC4h668mmgd4aCyFAn84eYeaW7QAHR6C2Em7vW7wIRRcXjk/s1600/ex-race-horse-on-stubble-field-hack-galloping.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHsBILiSg8PjpeAelAOU-Vl2_OS5u87fjLedQVqhm4xElhFnnwIjskBz0v8hHGa9jN5F22yGfn2pQUmr9s4Txu_YtkiJkPaAC4h668mmgd4aCyFAn84eYeaW7QAHR6C2Em7vW7wIRRcXjk/s1600/ex-race-horse-on-stubble-field-hack-galloping.jpg" height="332" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
And finally here we are all finished after a great time out on the stubble field, I think we both had a lot of fun, I know I did, and considering Niko's love of running I'm pretty sure he did too<br />
<br />
<br />
More details on Niko's new bit and how he is finding it in my next post, till then I hope you're all enjoying life with your equines.<br />
<br />

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So here we are back in an orchard just like we'd never left, still on the plus side lots has changed like Pippin our dear Gypsy Vanner has finally been gelded. It was hard getting his owner to agree and pay to have him gelded but this summer he started to become very aggressive towards the other male equines, so his owner caved in the end, although Pippin is still chasing the other horses he isn't nearly as aggressive and I hope that given time he will calm down.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiW7n8U2Buws6OHLPEEGNO6yR6pfpWlNf3_FX1oIY_Y7dX34oowWyaglasjJqGgc7JFt0y2OXUNQO54nPv8PDpy3UxnXtyQWvAmNRUE-RD2jYNgudgWYnOje3zV1hJdamGtCA3f5ioIsx8N/s1600/horse-staying-on-the-bit-while-standing-dressage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiW7n8U2Buws6OHLPEEGNO6yR6pfpWlNf3_FX1oIY_Y7dX34oowWyaglasjJqGgc7JFt0y2OXUNQO54nPv8PDpy3UxnXtyQWvAmNRUE-RD2jYNgudgWYnOje3zV1hJdamGtCA3f5ioIsx8N/s1600/horse-staying-on-the-bit-while-standing-dressage.jpg" height="357" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
On another note my riding has been going very nicely this summer and Niko is working beautifully for me, above is a photo of him standing rather well for me in his new padded bridle. We've also found a great place to hack so I can try to keep things more interesting for Niko by going on hacks with him every now and then. He really is in good form this summer, I think it might be time to have a few more lessons, to help us both with some lateral movements that I am sure Niko would benefit greatly from performing.<br />
<br />
Although these photos aren't of my most recent ride which was actually today they do let you see how his head carriage is coming along nicely and is becoming more consistent, after just a little bit of warm up he is getting very comfortable and going forward onto the bit for me.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6z9iyIMgAOsJx0pVKroMLjrGN2mDX8Ul0-tazSdhwwZqePQZLHW5Li62T8Iw08N9XW08flKmOuN7GG6hsYVwjUfZIFZ1imkG3BQS-b88MatbZxb8iCxOc29b9Cg6LfWklV7mX8kKl4YUt/s1600/horse-going-forward-dressage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6z9iyIMgAOsJx0pVKroMLjrGN2mDX8Ul0-tazSdhwwZqePQZLHW5Li62T8Iw08N9XW08flKmOuN7GG6hsYVwjUfZIFZ1imkG3BQS-b88MatbZxb8iCxOc29b9Cg6LfWklV7mX8kKl4YUt/s1600/horse-going-forward-dressage.jpg" height="271" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
And here is Niko above going forward onto the bit for me, you might just be able to see from the way my hand is actually slightly open on the rein how he is on a very soft contact at this point, normally I like to think I have good hands and it's important to remember to be soft with your hands when he is soft. It's nice to see him salivating a bit to.<br />
<br />

<br />
Here we are again, I think this shot shows Niko off quite well, he is a little skinnier than I'd like but it seems to be a never ending battle to keep the weight on him, still he is 16 now which I believe makes him a veteran. We've got Tipper and Niko some Dodson & Horrell build up cubes which have been helping with the weight a bit. Just as well they aren't competing isn't it after Dodson & Horrell's muck up that I'm sure most of you horsey folks have heard of.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgp4-OaXHqJu1bJnpAJurmV0wQXKSsWtxmCtvEErqxVEdlC-VgwnJ_O0XD5hdDtQPFIcmgag-OzFVF9jMYjWsvGy-N2UVDCMBH-u67BMO86s9YCfVcbjz8wIrNmZmstTQ-7etTEehslvVUe/s1600/horse-slightly-below-vertical-line.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgp4-OaXHqJu1bJnpAJurmV0wQXKSsWtxmCtvEErqxVEdlC-VgwnJ_O0XD5hdDtQPFIcmgag-OzFVF9jMYjWsvGy-N2UVDCMBH-u67BMO86s9YCfVcbjz8wIrNmZmstTQ-7etTEehslvVUe/s1600/horse-slightly-below-vertical-line.jpg" height="265" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
One last photo of Niko and I, well a bit of me anyway, as you can see reasonably clearly from this shot Niko is a little below/behind the vertical normally a bad thing, but to be honest it shouldn't really be of concern during schooling like this so long as you have sympathetic hands and aren't putting too much pressure on the horse in anyway, remember going below the vertical is still a form of stretch for a horse and although you shouldn't ask your horse to do this sometimes horses prefer to stretch more below the vertical than they do outwards, this said Niko isn't really stretching here he just sometimes slips below the vertical<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhv6FesK8eOwl_2wUFBCdRylXYtCpvbxv4dtDGa5AkwvDeKbvn94kM1ibSbOpPAnBSnwFju8BFRbycXSPEM9E0DmNlETcCCai849Dw2HRg8SNtYrM0RX3-zaolO9-T9Ba_mPv6I2lAmJVk8/s1600/breaking-a-young-horse-or-pony.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhv6FesK8eOwl_2wUFBCdRylXYtCpvbxv4dtDGa5AkwvDeKbvn94kM1ibSbOpPAnBSnwFju8BFRbycXSPEM9E0DmNlETcCCai849Dw2HRg8SNtYrM0RX3-zaolO9-T9Ba_mPv6I2lAmJVk8/s1600/breaking-a-young-horse-or-pony.jpg" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
These next two photos I wasn't sure about posting but in the end decided it would be nice to have a record of this on my blog. So here is Murphy and I, we've just started to do work under saddle and I'm really rather happy with him, he can be very cheeky but overall he is a good lad. Due to Murphy's small size I don't feel that I can ride him for long and of course never at a show, but I am still capable of beginning his work under saddle and hopefully getting him off to a good start.<br />
<br />
You can see here that I'm slightly uneven this is because I'm trying to give Murphy all the aids in as clear a way as I can so I am perhaps over doing it a little with my seat aids here by leaning to one side slightly. Also see how light I'm being with his reins, this is to let him get used to and comfortable with the bit, at this point in his training I won't ask him for a true contact.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRB0xTPTNCOQf7zHl1eAwFI_N9tIly8A6ptM5x9rsALKiEZO_QGdiwslzEMz7a9P_NOUc5DXp72ZFb7hvz9ScSBop_OpO2p5Yga3GHfQJczJAQvW4glPTfX3VkJnRBdqwCA3E-YzCptxus/s1600/young-pony-getting-used-to-the-bit-dressage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRB0xTPTNCOQf7zHl1eAwFI_N9tIly8A6ptM5x9rsALKiEZO_QGdiwslzEMz7a9P_NOUc5DXp72ZFb7hvz9ScSBop_OpO2p5Yga3GHfQJczJAQvW4glPTfX3VkJnRBdqwCA3E-YzCptxus/s1600/young-pony-getting-used-to-the-bit-dressage.jpg" height="357" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
And the very last photo of us, I'm riding without stirrups, due to the size of the saddle and length of my legs the stirrup leathers restricted my legs and made it hard to give good clear aids to such a small pony like Murphy, at this point I feel that very few but very precise aids with the legs will help Murphy to understand.<br />
<br />
I just have to try and remember it's not about how good I look on him it's just important that he understands. Well that's it from me today, as always I hope your all having a great time with your equines.<br />

<br />
After a very long break from blogger I have returned to bring you all adorable photos of ponies and horses, and also to fill you in on what has happened during my absences on blogger. So let's start with the riverbank as it was the last place you all saw the equines. I didn't like the land owner and it wasn't really suitable for horses but to be honest I was pretty much forced into it, so what happened? I think you can guess it's a riverbank, it flooded, of course it had to flood at night while all the horses and ponies were boxed.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhw2MaFMATx6WJ1rtm6FNKAPIcrgSbBCxVxFG3yfF8RFBj8Gj5NKo1WV1ZZe4FFmTC5t-dGvY3YmllyEjkGYwQi_hB9fdlfbwqRR46xcI0MWrSOHRJNck0BUx83FaEJFbF8mdfYvXrkjw-8/s1600/TB-gelding-horse-out-at-grass.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhw2MaFMATx6WJ1rtm6FNKAPIcrgSbBCxVxFG3yfF8RFBj8Gj5NKo1WV1ZZe4FFmTC5t-dGvY3YmllyEjkGYwQi_hB9fdlfbwqRR46xcI0MWrSOHRJNck0BUx83FaEJFbF8mdfYvXrkjw-8/s1600/TB-gelding-horse-out-at-grass.jpg" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
All the paddocks on the riverbank are in a straight line leading down to the stables, because of the very bad set up we had to walk through or drive through these paddocks just to get down to the horses everyday. So anyways we got a phone call telling us that the riverbank was flooding and we might want to check on the horses, when we turned up the first paddock was flooding rather fast, so I started walking down to get Niko and my mother went to see if she could get the key to open the big gate that was closer to the stables than the gate I had come in from. By the time I finally got to the stables the water was a little lower than my chest, so understandably the horses were getting quite upset in their boxes, but seeing how high the water was getting I couldn't let them out or they might have ended up in the river at night, which would have ended in tragedy I'm sure.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZNyrC1wEKgtBrl1BJu4R3F9GsiAp2JtxL5tEj1Rr20ObrjrdyNGlXxDX4jGppTN1PsXZK8HK8hdxCdJ02gbb5D2hBHxmif_t4pd-bH_a9AmG26qN-1fJa6jEU68P-lOineXg7FKMKl6qX/s1600/TB-mare-horse-out-at-grass.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZNyrC1wEKgtBrl1BJu4R3F9GsiAp2JtxL5tEj1Rr20ObrjrdyNGlXxDX4jGppTN1PsXZK8HK8hdxCdJ02gbb5D2hBHxmif_t4pd-bH_a9AmG26qN-1fJa6jEU68P-lOineXg7FKMKl6qX/s1600/TB-mare-horse-out-at-grass.jpg" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So I head collared Niko and got him out of his box, when he was out of his box he was as good as gold walking through the flood waters, we made it to the big gate with little trouble, unfortunately the chap that had the key for the big gate had left, I might add that he left knowing full well that the riverbank was flooding and that we would need to get our horses off, so there I was stuck behind a really big gate holding Niko while the riverbank flooded. Yay! ain't horse ownership grand.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So off my mother went to find the guy or something like that, after what seemed like an age of standing in flood water during the middle of the night talking to Niko she finally got back, about time too, one of my brothers and the guy with the key were with her so they got the gate open and my mother took Niko for me.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-gpYdICvhzikthy_4Xd74Zsylv9aMQQlusjSaj6OWWsTpUv2xUAG3tETZHkxdm0ZZtyOWpACwH6lH1nrmkJAqvE_65_ei5ewXbhrkzTvpQzwekf6G_jEDUBMT1y33T2TVlR3c6gGzClXU/s1600/TB-ex-race-horse-out-at-grass-gelding.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-gpYdICvhzikthy_4Xd74Zsylv9aMQQlusjSaj6OWWsTpUv2xUAG3tETZHkxdm0ZZtyOWpACwH6lH1nrmkJAqvE_65_ei5ewXbhrkzTvpQzwekf6G_jEDUBMT1y33T2TVlR3c6gGzClXU/s1600/TB-ex-race-horse-out-at-grass-gelding.jpg" height="308" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Then my brother and I went down the road that runs next to the riverbank till we got on the part of the road just above the stables, I told him to stay up on the road as he is not horsey and wouldn't be able to help me with them, when I came to the boxes I checked to see how everyone was doing luckily the stable doors were keeping lots of the water out, so it wasn't as high in the boxes, however Tipper was getting very upset at this point so I decided to take him next. Looking back maybe not my best idea. He came charging out of his box and nearly knocked me over, then as we left the paddock with the stables in it he went kinda crazy bucking and did knock me over, being knocked into dirty flood water by a crazy TB is perhaps the least fun thing I have done and I will definitely avoid it happening again. Luckily I did keep hold of him and got up, then Tipper decided he wasn't going to leave the paddock from either of the two gateways and in the end we had to climb up onto the road through barbed-wire, fortunately my brother helped hold the wire out of the way.<br />
<br />
So we made it out with Tipper but by this time I was freezing cold and looking like a drowned rat I'm sure, honestly I didn't think I'd be able to get the others out by myself, so much to my shame we had to get the fire brigade in and after many more hours of being wet and cold all the horses were out and safe. <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-sNiyGhvvFo8aAm7yNaqNdIt2-jSkp7YEo1UGnXZX1P81MBdVhYv-h4WM6oyql1PP_Tds7_4DkaJmNm50XObTzlSm3nJRHprmRSIXjs2H0chXyfZ7ZleXY-x1pECuntshje21A8LTVm6L/s1600/gelded-pony-out-at-grass.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-sNiyGhvvFo8aAm7yNaqNdIt2-jSkp7YEo1UGnXZX1P81MBdVhYv-h4WM6oyql1PP_Tds7_4DkaJmNm50XObTzlSm3nJRHprmRSIXjs2H0chXyfZ7ZleXY-x1pECuntshje21A8LTVm6L/s1600/gelded-pony-out-at-grass.jpg" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
We had the help of friends and other horsey people to move our five equines onto a new bit of land that they overwintered on, sadly with no boxes but they all came through winter in good condition. Then the time came to move them off of our friends land, luckily we were able to rent an orchard just across the road from the orchard they had been living in before we had to move them to the riverbank, now all is going well and everyone is happily enjoying summer.<br />
<br />
All the photos that have been used in this post are of the equines in their new home. I still have a bit more to tell you all about what's been happening while I've been away from blogger but as I've rambled on for so long about the flood I think I'll save it for another post. <br />
<br />
I hope you're all well and that you and your equines are all enjoying summer.<br />

As promised my Halloween post, sadly
this year we don't have any <a href="http://myequestrianworld.blogspot.co.uk/2011/10/happy-halloween.html" target="_blank">cheap devil horns to put on the horses</a>
and take funny photos of them, oh well another year maybe. I had
planed to do quite a long post but I've left it rather late so it'll
have to be a short one.</div>

My family and I are off to watch The Shining tonight at our local cinema, but as this is a horsey blog if
you were thinking of a horror film tonight I'd have to recommend
Sleepy Hollow can't beat that good old headless horsemen horror with
Johnny Depp, plus I think it's a better film than The Shining but
each to their own, and whatever you have planned have fun.

<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWQTHXtxd4E8uaopS1bv5JvEu4vunde7zikwjM3lphSVq_BZR25tHF2rPDNUDdoWf4GFReN7GvEnVUrlZdjPkRrLPB-sgCL8VVCHmLQ7oG4d3a388G0qrPhD8VgMx64mdR5YuZpHNzHlLc/s1600/moving-the-horses-and-ponies.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="245" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWQTHXtxd4E8uaopS1bv5JvEu4vunde7zikwjM3lphSVq_BZR25tHF2rPDNUDdoWf4GFReN7GvEnVUrlZdjPkRrLPB-sgCL8VVCHmLQ7oG4d3a388G0qrPhD8VgMx64mdR5YuZpHNzHlLc/s400/moving-the-horses-and-ponies.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I mentioned moving the equines rather a
long time ago and I haven't really done a proper post on the matter
since then so here we go. If you'll take a look at the photo above
you can see they've all been moved safe and sound, but the question
is where have they been moved to? Although if you look at the post
title it does kinda give that one away, yes they've been moved next
to the river.<br />
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhi-qVa4XCxECnJICABlyAN60f2fCYrpXmIwCmrEU7qGPwLKpLCRHb_ONJBFceL9wcNLPhuJ0JvZY5HPhXiU7iE4s1LH5iBG6XKmwpy225ggdBDfr7lFagivDBA9d73W4VPOqSiD_xE0z6s/s1600/moving+002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="253" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhi-qVa4XCxECnJICABlyAN60f2fCYrpXmIwCmrEU7qGPwLKpLCRHb_ONJBFceL9wcNLPhuJ0JvZY5HPhXiU7iE4s1LH5iBG6XKmwpy225ggdBDfr7lFagivDBA9d73W4VPOqSiD_xE0z6s/s400/moving+002.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
But more on that in a bit because now I
want to show the photos of our stables being moved yes we had them
moved too, here they are with the roof and doors off, looking a
little over grown out the front. Also I got to help take them down
which was actually quite good fun, odd I know.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />

<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Here's the roof after it had been
loaded up, not all of the stable parts could be moved like this due
to weight limits but the roof was ok.<br />

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
And now this is the stable going up on
the new land, as you can see they are fairly sheltered by the
conifers which is nice.<br />

<br />
Done, one four block complete with
horses and the beginnings of a nice black paint job, that has sadly
had to be put on hold due to rain, but let's hope we can get that
done some sunny day soon.

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">

<br />
Now on to what we've got at our new
yard, well we have 7 gates 3 of which are metal yeah that's right
we're living the life! Fine so we haven't got much here in fact we
don't even have water we have to bring it from home, but that's
working out ok for now, while we can still drive it down but I think
it'll get hard when we can't drive down in the winter.<br />
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6cujDO_oNpBjEXhcejSV5L8sPKAive6R94HKIMIUXijYIZGz7YjittGxWDtv94sF8fVl2IcKoG4ES0U2iBnsNauJef-pGB9yfshDvKzO3WpNeq_IqUPcMvEO1lzksvVk6rr9Kbi1yX0nI/s1600/005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="258" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6cujDO_oNpBjEXhcejSV5L8sPKAive6R94HKIMIUXijYIZGz7YjittGxWDtv94sF8fVl2IcKoG4ES0U2iBnsNauJef-pGB9yfshDvKzO3WpNeq_IqUPcMvEO1lzksvVk6rr9Kbi1yX0nI/s400/005.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Here's a quick pic of our winter
forage, see plenty for all they are 300kg bales, the horses are
loving the stuff and all putting a nice bit of weight on for the
winter, now while on the note of food I have news about Tipper.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMrG5BkBKbwiVgmp6FtA00tS7VgPwGYpI5UO9rCRyw4O0Ys-XacBHq-lOxVfcSRay3iQ0Aa5NQdDek9He1IGUCCRlupXLP-5jLVtfWUKzOLBkzM3K8BKT5pD5mouR7LtQumkhgZGS4nJAB/s1600/040.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMrG5BkBKbwiVgmp6FtA00tS7VgPwGYpI5UO9rCRyw4O0Ys-XacBHq-lOxVfcSRay3iQ0Aa5NQdDek9He1IGUCCRlupXLP-5jLVtfWUKzOLBkzM3K8BKT5pD5mouR7LtQumkhgZGS4nJAB/s400/040.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
This is an old photo of Tipper as I
haven't had the camera with me the last few days. Sometime ago we had
the dentist come out to do Tippers teeth but after taking a look he
said that Tipper was going to need a lot of work done, and we all
agreed that he wasn't going to be well behaved enough to have it done
without being sedated. So Niko got done that day instead, and we had
to book the vet to come at the same time as our dentist but the vet
let us down the first time which was a real shame because of how long
the waiting list is for the dentist. Well anyway we re-booked and
this time we weren't let down and it all went very well so now Tipper
is munching with the best of them, which is lovely to see.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6lj5Xmgpw773BKjzCaLyFOfiVELDTigH8SWag3L8jx5nI-yZhE_qZjllxjY1Zp5bPx6H_zHH7GOAiNADheGZYF92J5-a7sj3tx1dRb36plk9ZlInKWtjTg445tGerNXhFulmUfkbaKi9U/s1600/060.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6lj5Xmgpw773BKjzCaLyFOfiVELDTigH8SWag3L8jx5nI-yZhE_qZjllxjY1Zp5bPx6H_zHH7GOAiNADheGZYF92J5-a7sj3tx1dRb36plk9ZlInKWtjTg445tGerNXhFulmUfkbaKi9U/s400/060.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
But now back to the new yard I've shown
you the gates, food, stables, and horses so now to the river and well
here it is in all it's muddy splendor, it's actually pretty nice to
be next to the river and we've been informed that it hasn't flooded
for years and years, but having said that I wouldn't believe a word
from the person that told me that so I guess I am just going to have
to see for myself.<br />
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeZ0HZ1y8ZyyMna8zY3eEstOp3MpUQrLStYlIoZjPJNX8eB6JhdRmixPQfpdgq5Kw-nLJ7jj6FL_plsDZLBVpQiKgiYqUDeCQOKmAcdyIG3pdUHG3uZ94uYb3NJbQr1wDGLjx4SAJ1E5Yx/s1600/all-the-stuff-we've-got-this-and-more.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeZ0HZ1y8ZyyMna8zY3eEstOp3MpUQrLStYlIoZjPJNX8eB6JhdRmixPQfpdgq5Kw-nLJ7jj6FL_plsDZLBVpQiKgiYqUDeCQOKmAcdyIG3pdUHG3uZ94uYb3NJbQr1wDGLjx4SAJ1E5Yx/s400/all-the-stuff-we've-got-this-and-more.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
And as I oh so slowly come to the end
of this post I'd like to point out a few other things we have here,
post and rail on some parts, a road literally next to us, a creepy
shed, some really big holes, and lots and lots of junk left here by
our beloved lazy person who will not be named. But honestly it's
pretty good here so no worries.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Oh and finally before I stop going on
Halloween is nearly here so expect to be seeing a spooky post around
here. Well that's it from me now I hope you are all having a truly
glorious time of life, if not just a good time will do.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Congratulations if you read to the end
of this long slightly rambling post and thanks.<br />

<br />
I was doing a bit of flat work yesterday here are some of the photos. As no doubt you can see we've been rather lackadaisical towards getting the ragwort up due to the fact that we will soon be leaving, and our horses and ponies don't have a taste for it anyway. but back to the part of this post about flat work.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Niko was a fairly good sport about it, although I would have appreciated having my schooling whip but it seems I've misplaced it again still I was happy with the way it went. I don't currently have a instructor so I've got no one to tell me about the multitude of things I am doing wrong, so feel free to really go for it with that creative criticism.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2KP3x94XhsoajPFsMbTd_0XjFEh2oFA7IMgtT2Q_txvOqUXS_dh32oVNAloT3lGP3cKt5CRL3igmMZufIP69V1v-0TQDJQf8Ka8nH4tiEf42utjjUJHPBhh8QSaSCuTPs-vpIWYAsR8fN/s1600/lovely-horse-on-the-bit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="332" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2KP3x94XhsoajPFsMbTd_0XjFEh2oFA7IMgtT2Q_txvOqUXS_dh32oVNAloT3lGP3cKt5CRL3igmMZufIP69V1v-0TQDJQf8Ka8nH4tiEf42utjjUJHPBhh8QSaSCuTPs-vpIWYAsR8fN/s400/lovely-horse-on-the-bit.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
A few things I am already aware of, one, I keep looking down, two, I haven't got Niko's hindquarters engaged enough, and three, I perhaps lean forward a tad too much sometimes, so any tips or advice would be rather helpful.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGnalZA5brNMGdSzscipNgNwoj5pvcSQ_TgutWyTXoxkEqwO5yZse4rJW-L50Rxbn_zsTpjAPM2QazvrgUwFdFAQ1uR22gzsKhkdpvDuN8zmpuUGEkQ5tEQB_fkX31R5BY8Az4SVMArJ1u/s1600/perfect-horse.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="366" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGnalZA5brNMGdSzscipNgNwoj5pvcSQ_TgutWyTXoxkEqwO5yZse4rJW-L50Rxbn_zsTpjAPM2QazvrgUwFdFAQ1uR22gzsKhkdpvDuN8zmpuUGEkQ5tEQB_fkX31R5BY8Az4SVMArJ1u/s400/perfect-horse.jpg" width="400" /> </a></div>
<br />
On a note unrelated to this photo when I try walking Niko on a long rein he is happy to have a good stretch and go nicely long and low but I find it hard to keep him this way, I was under the impression that when a horse is walked on a loose rein his poll should be lower than his withers which Niko's is but never for as long as I'd like, so any thoughts or help on that I would appreciate.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Visibly leaning forward in this photo bad me. I guess I need to get myself a instructor but that won't happening at least till the move so I've got a bit of waiting to do.<br />

<br />
Today I'll be reviewing my new boots as promised. They are Sherwood Forest New Derby Zip Jodhpur boots, now I quote the tag "Developed for country sports specifically hunting, shooting and equine enthusiasts, the country sports collection from Sherwood Forest fills the void in country wear market." Ok well I am not sure I'd say "fills the void" but on to the review. As you can see the boots have embellished toe caps helping with style and of course boot strength, they also have front zips, elasticated ankle area all adding to a more snug feel and better ankle support, the boots also have pull on tabs if you care to use them. <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4I4sEyJkFFvz2UT7GEoWkp8saBRZhDUa7Z-VKQ80GwBn6gaWkaYYmeVD0pKF55w_HeAbVo4OKNa7FhslKgSCKrRUigIj7K0waxLYdSKmYwL-56FZrHTw0aVPWvqcVLPvc3HxU5ODcw_yq/s1600/Sherwood+Forest-New-Derby-Zip-Jodhpur-Boot-riding-boot-Review.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4I4sEyJkFFvz2UT7GEoWkp8saBRZhDUa7Z-VKQ80GwBn6gaWkaYYmeVD0pKF55w_HeAbVo4OKNa7FhslKgSCKrRUigIj7K0waxLYdSKmYwL-56FZrHTw0aVPWvqcVLPvc3HxU5ODcw_yq/s320/Sherwood+Forest-New-Derby-Zip-Jodhpur-Boot-riding-boot-Review.jpg" width="298" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
As you can see here the boot has a fairly standard sole for a jodhpur boot, which is a good thing a boot with too much grip can be very dangerous this boot has just the right amount, also the boot isn't too wide so all in all the boot is quite safe in the event of a fall.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRNUWGza8a8atnqdYvk677IBzNCxNngIy0Bdp7qqKC3NlPElIYjQtEPB_4booa2zTLN6kt_ucZEYNZDGgR0OFhI0NvNEhW1H49bgcPW8BIsDp7VH3b7gq8IFXytoI14vt89SVABSv4ldcT/s1600/tack-Reviews-Sherwood-Forest-New-Derby-Zip-Jodhpur-Boot.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="314" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRNUWGza8a8atnqdYvk677IBzNCxNngIy0Bdp7qqKC3NlPElIYjQtEPB_4booa2zTLN6kt_ucZEYNZDGgR0OFhI0NvNEhW1H49bgcPW8BIsDp7VH3b7gq8IFXytoI14vt89SVABSv4ldcT/s320/tack-Reviews-Sherwood-Forest-New-Derby-Zip-Jodhpur-Boot.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
And now we come to the heel of the boot it's a bit dirty yes but these boots had to be tried and tested, the heel has a spur rest although this photo cuts it off, just, it is there, nothing great but if you should wish to use spurs it's there. So now we come to the final opinion of the boot, it looks quite nice nothing too amazing, it is fairly well made and shouldn't fall apart on you, it is safe, and it is very affordable.<br />
<br />
So it's a nice looking boot suitable for everyday use and riding at home with great value, but if you are looking for a boot with all the bells and whistles that will really catch the eye of the crowd at a show this is not it.<br />
<br />
All in all the Sherwood Forest New Derby boot is good.<br />
<br />

<br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Hello all, this post was supposed to
come a lot sooner than it did but better late than never, so on to
the post.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
It's about jumping, I've been doing a
lot of jumping of late, sadly I've only got photos of Murphy and I
jumping, as you can see we did get some more tires to make bigger
jumps. I think this photo shows Murphy has quite a nice jump although
he can jump higher than this it's too tough on him for his experience
at the moment.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
And here's another of him looking quite
beautiful over this jump and nicely tucked up too, plus you can see
my own fine jumping ability, ok so maybe I won't be going over the
bigger jumps with him.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
I've also been doing plenty of jumping
with Niko but I've got no photos of that so you'll just have to see
that another day, but as you can just about see in this photo I have
new boots! More on this in another post where I shall review said
boots.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
And finally a photo of our three
beloved thoroughbreds that I have edited with some good advice. Well
that's it for me for now anyway.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">

<br />
Recently we've been looking for
somewhere new for the horses to live, we've been to see a few places,
but we aren't sure if we'll move to any of them yet, and also there
has been some trouble with haylage because a lot of it has been moldy, so that's my excuse for the most recent blog neglect not
great I know.
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Now onto a different note here are some
photos I edited.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNON67rerzyi_P2BNNWRSzG2DVVIKuZLu8sCcnqBtX8OYv3LtdIaEuopblLv8wy15CNs-OhmJVVqoCSDN8g1zlVH7wiVq8ghdVFYJQExSAGn4RxFpf5Aatl7I9bBA-8nZAjRK9cpsoOA5U/s1600/murphy-pony-gelding-dramatic-photo.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNON67rerzyi_P2BNNWRSzG2DVVIKuZLu8sCcnqBtX8OYv3LtdIaEuopblLv8wy15CNs-OhmJVVqoCSDN8g1zlVH7wiVq8ghdVFYJQExSAGn4RxFpf5Aatl7I9bBA-8nZAjRK9cpsoOA5U/s400/murphy-pony-gelding-dramatic-photo.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I did this one first. I was just playing
around but I was advised to blog it, I thought that if I was going to
blog it I should do one for all our equines.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEcfEtPOPQXW4i6k0oYWG1oTHzwqZ8viqTiwkx4zMWWVVlru22VqUnGm6f_m3VlfTEKvBndoI8k04KCdPp-WxZhCVsdDSIyjp56AYTI1jqRsZkysdqzssdcU5N2cqzEnpy_G2Eg4CYVo17/s1600/Niko-ex-race-horse-dramatic-photo.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="355" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEcfEtPOPQXW4i6k0oYWG1oTHzwqZ8viqTiwkx4zMWWVVlru22VqUnGm6f_m3VlfTEKvBndoI8k04KCdPp-WxZhCVsdDSIyjp56AYTI1jqRsZkysdqzssdcU5N2cqzEnpy_G2Eg4CYVo17/s400/Niko-ex-race-horse-dramatic-photo.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I did this one for Niko, I was planning
on giving him a military feel to his photo but after awhile it ended
up with this old film look, which I think rather suits him.<br />
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHHwwEWWNXHPCMC9mAyaYU-cUHRNWoXXQ56eT91QhJMirlU7jayP3bTMMmOFYCQBlbpSYSf3Qts6kc8cURiW8AmrroZGKq2SolLynxenoJMT5oti-WX_EpXkyDVJGB-D3HrXnOTL_Lz2Mz/s1600/Tipper-ex-race-horse-dramatic-photo.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="338" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHHwwEWWNXHPCMC9mAyaYU-cUHRNWoXXQ56eT91QhJMirlU7jayP3bTMMmOFYCQBlbpSYSf3Qts6kc8cURiW8AmrroZGKq2SolLynxenoJMT5oti-WX_EpXkyDVJGB-D3HrXnOTL_Lz2Mz/s400/Tipper-ex-race-horse-dramatic-photo.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
This one I messed about with a lot and
got this which I see as a kind of magic dark fairytale look, and yes
that was probably a very bad description of this photos theme.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyGPnFKkRH6ksD7BqW4BJ15gOMNxsAhi-BgH_W1FOnzYuhDydMKGhJdARlew3ElhBhN1aACHVt8ruO6lGgHsBbD6HkIqUCYQDu9na5DmRjTCenLN4U1v3JO24Jsila9hpe-fcpHB1MmoN_/s1600/pippin-pony-colt-dramatic-photo.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="398" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyGPnFKkRH6ksD7BqW4BJ15gOMNxsAhi-BgH_W1FOnzYuhDydMKGhJdARlew3ElhBhN1aACHVt8ruO6lGgHsBbD6HkIqUCYQDu9na5DmRjTCenLN4U1v3JO24Jsila9hpe-fcpHB1MmoN_/s400/pippin-pony-colt-dramatic-photo.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
When I did Pippin's photo I wanted him
to have something cool, but couldn't find anything I was happy with
in the end I did this, and although it's not what I was looking for I
do think all four Pips look very cool.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsi1bRLEU5AzD9HyLvdKhvE4wCnKF4hXb7C7MzngQ6RnDl98bGDAUuc6dHvbp_w9xFVsa-ZAVi1Eh-zEXGfU8vcX3T8J-DILkI3DAso9pqXdPZO1uIq3OeNEUFX-pKH24cyw34WKWHrEVZ/s1600/madeline-horse-mare-dramatic-photo.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="313" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsi1bRLEU5AzD9HyLvdKhvE4wCnKF4hXb7C7MzngQ6RnDl98bGDAUuc6dHvbp_w9xFVsa-ZAVi1Eh-zEXGfU8vcX3T8J-DILkI3DAso9pqXdPZO1uIq3OeNEUFX-pKH24cyw34WKWHrEVZ/s400/madeline-horse-mare-dramatic-photo.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
And finally we have Madeline's photo it's very bright and colorful with the rainbow effect, I know but I think it looks ok.<br />
<br />
Well that's it for now I hope you liked the photos and if you had a favorite I'd love to hear it. More posts on the way very soon.<br />

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Here's just a quick post on some easy
to make jumps, using just six tires (or tyres as we Englishmen spell it) and three logs. To start with
here's a nice small jump, see above, with two of the tires at the
sides of the jump to make a run out far less likely, and it's a
cross, all in all a very inviting little jump, plus it's so small you
can jump it at the walk.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjErrNLMJZGi5ykGucHBEhHhD3LjZHsoPHRMN3MsDZusVQ7fx_JO2wPQCNwNA8vWMBHIlnADBnUlWzDaPcY2rCi4Wb08-GDJyjnEFBNSEjZVKbjEPWr4xtNfJ47YQwD3Xf4f5h5Yuw4w1_h/s1600/home-made-Cross-Country-horse-jumps-sturdy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="227" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjErrNLMJZGi5ykGucHBEhHhD3LjZHsoPHRMN3MsDZusVQ7fx_JO2wPQCNwNA8vWMBHIlnADBnUlWzDaPcY2rCi4Wb08-GDJyjnEFBNSEjZVKbjEPWr4xtNfJ47YQwD3Xf4f5h5Yuw4w1_h/s320/home-made-Cross-Country-horse-jumps-sturdy.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
This one is a little bigger but still
inviting and easy to jump. The logs that we are using are all fairly
heavy so if the horse does hit them he knows and won't want to do it
again, but as you can clearly see the jumps are not solid so injury
isn't so likely.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2Taz3rBya0MCjuMLrfli4lxJpHu9M4OB9qtJaXaU3pyWMfl7KKzpt_jiFXV3M_hXYJHRJm-CGkqfz8It_gChnGSMI1j-61i9O0EkNMd19daI2BQFESMDEyE_1v2BKeIWkr1zPer6dssoJ/s1600/home-made-Rustic-Triple-Set-jumps.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="216" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2Taz3rBya0MCjuMLrfli4lxJpHu9M4OB9qtJaXaU3pyWMfl7KKzpt_jiFXV3M_hXYJHRJm-CGkqfz8It_gChnGSMI1j-61i9O0EkNMd19daI2BQFESMDEyE_1v2BKeIWkr1zPer6dssoJ/s320/home-made-Rustic-Triple-Set-jumps.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Now here is a more interesting and
fun jump, a very nice little spread, everyone likes spread jumps
right?</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgA1xobqzCp3sDAtA8chow7RFnwX1JkuW0k9YkzCSMrhtGJ3PFTVyYeIjvRWsajIscBJBFuiVba32pukKmMibsuqAAbpDdPgTXnkaREboVfmCpFRGQgLcqwlNmJxSlytuyp3DGiPYEKMaA3/s1600/home-made-Working-Hunter-Schooling-jumps.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="241" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgA1xobqzCp3sDAtA8chow7RFnwX1JkuW0k9YkzCSMrhtGJ3PFTVyYeIjvRWsajIscBJBFuiVba32pukKmMibsuqAAbpDdPgTXnkaREboVfmCpFRGQgLcqwlNmJxSlytuyp3DGiPYEKMaA3/s320/home-made-Working-Hunter-Schooling-jumps.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
And finally we have some cavaletti
which is quite nice and of course good for your horse.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
So that's pretty much it they are all
very small jumps but fun and hopefully we'll soon be dealing with the
size issue by getting some more tires, and the best part is they are
free because car workshops would normally have to pay to have them
removed, so they are more than happy to give them to us, it's a win
win</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOxJRSnevzPnKWTc9v8qgh5J104y7sfjGm2_1YiXIiMSQASU3QDTwbTm3qs8iThjsibpflwPT9KLne2vguR7N5hfTF5p3wE_boS5fIt8ZvS3uWWluEQ2qIQ9eAlvBzAb-el891aVkQUx8x/s1600/Niko-horse.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="275" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOxJRSnevzPnKWTc9v8qgh5J104y7sfjGm2_1YiXIiMSQASU3QDTwbTm3qs8iThjsibpflwPT9KLne2vguR7N5hfTF5p3wE_boS5fIt8ZvS3uWWluEQ2qIQ9eAlvBzAb-el891aVkQUx8x/s320/Niko-horse.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Almost forgot horse photo, need one of
those.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">

<br /></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Hello everybody it's been
quite sometime since my last post, but I find myself looking back
through my blog and feeling that I should continue it, so here I am. </div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
It's probably best if I
start with a report on how all our equines are doing, this was going
to be the bit were I go into great depth about how they are all doing
but to be honest they are nearly always doing the same, they are
happy, not working much, eating lots, and generally living the life
of Riley.</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
And here are some shots
of them all just so you can hopefully get used to seeing their
lovable little faces again.<br />
<br />
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKRaH-FQOyphyphenhyphenU6gFt7FN4Hl9RRcJtRAg83uDwAySsdusUXpWiSCSK2WMUNGknQtabMeBEALuG2JYjQkXSuAcTg52ox67vyImSaJzXgUL-o-jmQRKN-CpZsON01xZ6kpq3kf8ohCo6xStT/s1600/Thoroughbred-ex-race-horse-gelding.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="244" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKRaH-FQOyphyphenhyphenU6gFt7FN4Hl9RRcJtRAg83uDwAySsdusUXpWiSCSK2WMUNGknQtabMeBEALuG2JYjQkXSuAcTg52ox67vyImSaJzXgUL-o-jmQRKN-CpZsON01xZ6kpq3kf8ohCo6xStT/s320/Thoroughbred-ex-race-horse-gelding.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Here are some reminders
of who they are just in case you are new to the blog or honestly just
forgot about them.</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Above is No Keep, his
stable name is Niko but I have a tendency to swap between Booboo and
Niko, he does most of the work out of our equines.
</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Above is Madeline Araxie,
stable name well it kind of changes a lot but mostly just Mady she is
the only mare in the herd and obviously the boss of the herd too, she
doesn't do much work but she helps keep everybody in line.</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>

<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
This is Bold Hawk, stable
name Tipper he's a lovely chap not a lot of use yet but he seems to
be enjoying his relaxed lifestyle with us, and who knows he may find
himself with a job to do soon.</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>

<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
This is Murphy Junior, seen on the left,
stable name Murphy he is full of mischief and energy which makes him rather good
fun to be around, I am currently hoping to do horse agility with him
he's pretty good at what he's done so far.</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhduxgtiCbwzb5r4xJo7Q1PeKlHypNZAoD5rizwE7UWcAV8QcT_TM7kIX2DKfrKw-l9rTYsAHEyIGKdn5SQDLWukap4i_SVAKO6ZDJ-u-IeKQU98NsF6sBZA4LzYMKQVBB9XAfXuzp4pNcT/s1600/pony-male-horse-stallion-colt.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="311" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhduxgtiCbwzb5r4xJo7Q1PeKlHypNZAoD5rizwE7UWcAV8QcT_TM7kIX2DKfrKw-l9rTYsAHEyIGKdn5SQDLWukap4i_SVAKO6ZDJ-u-IeKQU98NsF6sBZA4LzYMKQVBB9XAfXuzp4pNcT/s320/pony-male-horse-stallion-colt.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
And this is Bayfields Pippin Lord
Derby, and yes I know big name for such a small pony, we normally just
call him Pip. He is the only male horse that is still entire in the
herd, I did want to have him gelded but that hasn't worked out just
yet, still he is mostly a perfect little gentleman with me so I guess
I can't ask for more than that.</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
So there you go that's
the lot of our herd big and small I'll be doing a new post soon with
more of a subject other than hey I'm back.</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Well I hope you have all
been happy and healthy in my absence, if I get the time I'll try to
stop by your blogs and see what you've been up too.</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3Runf71GFehlCD16kSIVY102WORiBGesmMusG-mHe7aqWDbl1j98euREg7xTac5UNnvxxjCzTxqFxqqBpl5cwi0Q822UpH54pC70JHSOsTXTPXMgBeUXKBJQr9TAiGLkr9xV1cHCzZox6/s1600/044.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3Runf71GFehlCD16kSIVY102WORiBGesmMusG-mHe7aqWDbl1j98euREg7xTac5UNnvxxjCzTxqFxqqBpl5cwi0Q822UpH54pC70JHSOsTXTPXMgBeUXKBJQr9TAiGLkr9xV1cHCzZox6/s320/044.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I haven't got a lot to say just a small report on whats going on.<br />
<br />
It's starting to dry up, oh so slowly, so if the rain can hold off I'll finally get some riding in.<br />
<br />
Also I realized that I didn't actually tell you guys how our equines are getting on so I will now, for the most part they are doing well. Madeline has perhaps a bit too much energy because they are staying in over night at the moment, Pip is well and still hasn't been gelded and now I am starting to wonder if he's ever going to get gelded but on the plus side he is so well behaved that he is really no problem, Murphy is good as ever and was working on bowing for me but now it's so muddy that's on standby, Tipper is really good and he has filled out so much since I got him, and of course Niko is his normal well behaved, calm self, I did get him to bow as well as Murphy which was nice because he is a full sized horse rather than a very little pony.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Oh and I have joined <a href="http://www.facebook.com/edward.caton.52" target="_blank">Facebook</a> and have a fan page for my blog so if you happen to be a fan of my blog and have Facebook please go ahead and like the page, also feel free to add me as a friend If you want.<br />
<br />
And finally just before I go I'd like to say thanks to you all for sticking around despite my long absence from blogger, and hello to my new follower thanks for following hope you enjoy the blog.<br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3J3MTPwgPn40lZzTDro0ZQhs3vbx2jSOOkoz-B-HnvOBtuGozDAscSZYFHslscrVUwzQv28GEwFMWFNKVPqa7cGks6k4c2Zh53crsFGh4NfdkeYrZR6CeiRAECDT8UtjF48L7rBvW-1Yj/s1600/niko-2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="230" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3J3MTPwgPn40lZzTDro0ZQhs3vbx2jSOOkoz-B-HnvOBtuGozDAscSZYFHslscrVUwzQv28GEwFMWFNKVPqa7cGks6k4c2Zh53crsFGh4NfdkeYrZR6CeiRAECDT8UtjF48L7rBvW-1Yj/s320/niko-2.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
It's been a long time since my last post so a fair bit has been going on. To start with a lovely lady, whose name will not be mentioned, has allowed me to ride in her field, so Niko has some room to blow off steam and have fun. The ponies have been down too and they enjoyed themselves so that's been nice.<br />
<br />
Oh and the circus came and set up in her field so that was nice because we got to meet the two horses that worked in it, they were both beautifully kept and they are Andalusians too which brings me on to my next piece of news. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiB2dcFiH2_YD6pJkeXwqyLbgMIlp18z84_VYtZKaL9CKYA-vZavK8O78j_DtwKbRJiZvWCWaGHBx69hwp5fOSl0FbCSJ0tmkCIXLebKj8FaX39AgogY3EsKoyGZbeaPh-5sjJ6cVsVDc2Z/s1600/adalusian-gelding-grey.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiB2dcFiH2_YD6pJkeXwqyLbgMIlp18z84_VYtZKaL9CKYA-vZavK8O78j_DtwKbRJiZvWCWaGHBx69hwp5fOSl0FbCSJ0tmkCIXLebKj8FaX39AgogY3EsKoyGZbeaPh-5sjJ6cVsVDc2Z/s320/adalusian-gelding-grey.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
And here he is. I have had the pleasure of working with this fine chap, he is a 8 year old Andalusian gelding. I've been working with his buddy too, but I haven't got a photo of him, he is a Andalusian stallion. They are both great fun to work with and be around. The person that owns them is teaching me to ride and work on the ground with the horses in a classical way so it's very interesting and hard too, really hard. It's helping me with our horses too as I can apply all the things that I learn with the Andalusians to them.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_m21TH0r1AnQf8JnQJKP1uJkBygclMPm-pyETfbnlEj0U6omNI3umNFplnv3h0Ik043jp65UwQ7FBDSy9UP11bBCsfygFW6xedj3Py-f4EiMzsC-WpGH_Ytp8rSh0Ij3xorXwJjH109Q2/s1600/murphy-welsh-pony-being-daft.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_m21TH0r1AnQf8JnQJKP1uJkBygclMPm-pyETfbnlEj0U6omNI3umNFplnv3h0Ik043jp65UwQ7FBDSy9UP11bBCsfygFW6xedj3Py-f4EiMzsC-WpGH_Ytp8rSh0Ij3xorXwJjH109Q2/s320/murphy-welsh-pony-being-daft.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
But for now I am not getting to do anything with our horses as it is too wet, cold and muddy to ride so I am rather bummed out about that, but at least I got to put a funny hat on Murphy. Also our laptop died due to my dear brother spilling his breakfast cereal and milk all over it :( so I've lost my huge stash of horsey photos. I don't really want to go uploading all the new ones I take to the laptop I am using now as it kinda looks like it might break if you breath on it too heavily.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDvCsLjpTbdJI__Cf3hn9ecMGy-wYYoVWe80S10rOlYGUkoPi-Ezd7ytlm4ZHnq7758PfrnlGVwfgMywY_X0lP4566aKiDPZry0qfYV3Et1eVaw7GrB-w0r_pF4PwZIhsto2vcRPgbA3zF/s1600/niko-thoroughbred-old-photo-black-and-white.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="220" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDvCsLjpTbdJI__Cf3hn9ecMGy-wYYoVWe80S10rOlYGUkoPi-Ezd7ytlm4ZHnq7758PfrnlGVwfgMywY_X0lP4566aKiDPZry0qfYV3Et1eVaw7GrB-w0r_pF4PwZIhsto2vcRPgbA3zF/s320/niko-thoroughbred-old-photo-black-and-white.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Still all in all things are pretty good with me, I hope you are all doing well and having lots of fun with your horses or whatever it may be that you have been focusing on.<br />

here, it’s been rain nearly everyday now for what seems like an age. Here is a
photo of Murphy soaked and about to be taken in, it was still drizzling when
this photo was taken but the camera doesn’t show it up. All the bad weather has
stopped me from riding most of the summer so far which means I haven’t been
able to get Niko fit, which is quite annoying because Niko is a roarer. He has
had the operation to help him but he still makes the roaring noises unless he is
fairly fit and then they go away.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 12pt;">But enough of the book, check out these two, I
would hope you all know who they are but for those of you that don’t, the lady
on the left is Charlotte Dujardin, and the gentleman on the right is Carl
Hester. They are both shining examples of British dressage riders and I hope to
see them both coming back from the Olympics with medals, but that’s not why
I’ve posted about them. Horse & Country is currently showing a TV series
called Carl and Charlotte: Dressage Superstars, the first two episodes are now
available to watch at <a href="http://www.horseandcountry.tv/" target="_blank">Horse & Country</a>. I’ve really enjoyed it so far.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 12pt;"> </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 12pt;">We all know how good oil can be for our horse’s
coats and overall condition, hence the reason a wide range of horse feeds
contain high oil and why some horse owners choose to add oil straight into their
horses feed. But feeding oils is not the only use for them, I recently noticed
that some of the horses mouths were looking a little dry, having read some of
Xenophon’s writings I was interested to see that he suggested the use of oil on
the horses mouth, I felt that our horses and ponies wound benefit from it.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 12pt;"> </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 12pt;">So as you can see here I’ve applied olive oil to
Niko’s mouth, this can be beneficial in many ways it helps keep the skin moisturized
and soft, nobody likes dry skin and horses are no different. The oils can also
help one with improving their horse for riding by softening the mouth making it
more comfortable for the horse and more responsive to the rider, a win win I would
say. I now apply oil to all of the horses and ponies mouths, and I feel they’ve
benefited greatly from it. </span><br />

Just a quick post this morning, about theses little lumps of
goodness lots of you will probably know these are Himalayan salt licks. I recently
bought five of these, one for each of our equines, we have the NAF salt licks
but that is only due to the shop selling that type, considering they are all Himalayan
salt licks I don’t supposes it make a differences weather it comes from NAF,
Global Herb, or any other companies that sell them.</div>

these licks are good for many reasons one of them being it is very rare for a

of a licking every night (our equines are still staying in over night). </div>

but in the time that I was riding him I got to see some minor hiccups, one he
dishes to a degree but dishes worse on one rein, no surprises there, but just

minor and of no importance to this post. So in general Tipper is doing well but

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 12pt;">And here’s Madeline not the best photo but she was
in a no photos mood that day. I was riding Madeline too but like I said I got
ill and bad weather hit. The first day I started to ride her she wouldn’t go through
the gate to enter the riding area, and then she promptly bucked me off slipping
over in doing so, then wiggled back to her feet before proceeding to run around
like a loon. After I caught her I re-mounted and we did do some work. After a
few days work we made some good progress and I managed to get her stretching which
is really important, so I hope it won’t be hard to get her back at the point we
left off when I start working her again. So all in all Madeline is well and
made a little progress in her work. As for her bucking me off I feel she was completely
not to blame and I should have been a better horseman, for one I should have
been able to sit the buck and two it was foolish to try ridden work with her in
the mood she was in but all lessons learnt and all turned out well.</span><br />

now as he has grown a bit, still short just not as short. Anyways on to how he’s
been, Pip has been very well perhaps a little too well as he is still entire, I
find this a little annoying but there’s nothing to worry about because he can’t
reach Madeline and on top of that he is probably the worlds most incompetent
colt he recently tried to mount Niko because Niko was wearing a black rug and
Madeline was wearing a orangey brown rug so Pip got a little confused. Luckily
for him Niko was surprisingly forgiving and just turned so that Pip fell off,
he didn’t kick or bite Pip. So Pip too has been well and is still awaiting
gelding.</span><br />

And saving the best for last Niko, who has some how picked
up the nickname Boo-Boo. in my defence I wasn’t the one to first call him it
but he does seem to rather like the name so it’s kind of stuck and I call him
it frequently now. On a different note I’ve been mixing up what I do with Niko
as when I try to do flat work session after flat work session he gets bored and
is pretty rubbish to ride, he’s been doing lunge, jumping, and he goes on very
little hacks round the orchard, with of course still doing some flat work. So just
like the others he is fairly well even if a little on the chubby side.</div>
