Welcome To the New Year

I hope you’re all having a good New Year and I hope you all made good new years resolutions. So far my new year has been mostly unpleasant but I am sure that will soon change, on the bright side we have got the horses out of those horribly muddy paddocks and on to a new bit of ground which I am sure will soon be just as muddy, but we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.

We are keeping the horses and ponies in over night now, and I have lots to yak about but for now I’ll leave you with a few photos, I need to get back in the swing of blogging slowly so just a short post today ;)

Oh and just before I do finally go hello to my new follower and thanks for following.

Edward, I hope your year starts looking up soon! So far my year is going well, riding in the new year is always a great feeling!

Ahh, mud....we have lots here also but we got a cold snap the other night and it's now frozen and Gilly has frozen ice balls on his fetlocks, he clinks when he walks. He doesn't seem to mind though, he is dressed in his winter finery, a heavy warm coat.

Gilly and Pokey stay outside mostly, by choice. Doesn't seem to matter how cold. They can go in the barn if they choose but seem to prefer to be out.

Glad you liked Gil's purple hair extensions, they are fun! Glad Pokey didn't see them he would have chewed them off!

The reason I want to shoot off his back is one never knows when you might need to. And I just want to have him get used to anything, especially loud noises. A lot of hunting goes on out here so there is quite a bit of noise at times. Our neighbor has a 4 wheeler that backfires a lot too. Always be prepared! What I would really, really love to learn to do is cowboy mounted shooting, looks like loads of fun!!!
Hope your year is on the up soon! :-)

Horses help brighten up bad days. Mud is something we deal with here to. If I don't ride I still usually visit every day to at least clean their hooves.
