Freebies

Just the other day we had a haylage delivery, it is quite nice haylage and we buy a bale a time, but this time our supplier give us a free bale of haylage saying that it was the wrong size, and I am not complaining you can barely tell that it is smaller then the normal bales.

Well Pip likes the haylage, I don’t think he could get any more in his mouth if he tried, Pip is in with all the others today and they are all getting on quite well, Murphy is giving Pip a bit of a hard time but he will be fine.

Oh and we were given these free baseball caps as well as the free haylage, I don’t think I will be wearing mine much, baseball caps don’t offer much protection from a hoof, and I don’t really like them anyway but still it is very nice of our supplier to give us all the free stuff.

Thank you all for your comments on my last post.

Sherri, yes we have some chickens, they can be very horrid as well, I guess it is very much an animal thing just trying to sort out who is going to be in charge.

Abby, Pip is quite slow so Murphy has been running after him biting his bottom, so I think Pip is in for the kicks and bites just like poor Spotty. I am just curious but how old is Spotty?

  1. How brilliant getting some free haylage and Pip certainly looks to be making the most of it
too. I am glad he is settling in and I am sure Murphy will get used to him being in the same paddock. I do not like to wear a baseball cap either but they come in handy during the summer to keep the flys away. Spotty is 9 which is fairly young to have arthritis, I was told he pulled a cart from a young age so I think that is why he has it in his hind legs.
I hope you get a Zebra one day, although I am not sure how Murphy would react to it :) Abby

  2. I think Pip might be trying to eat more to grow big like the others.

  4. Now there is a post for the future...haylage, silage, 55 lb bales, 115 lb bales, round bales...and slow feeding.

Yea, I'm not a cap wearer..but hats and tams-to hide helmet hair! Do you wear your helmet grooming, lunging, or just riding?
